The horse ride experience

Do I need any prior horse riding experience?

The guided horse ride is open to new riders to experience riders.
All of the horse rides are conducted at walking pace only. This is regardless of your rider experience. The purpose of these tours is to take it slow, to settle into the rhythm of the rainforest and your horse. Riders are not allowed to trot, canter or gallop at any time during the tour.

Is there limits on the horses?

All minors under 18 years old participating in a horse activity must have a parent or legal guardian on the ride with them. No refunds will be provided for children booked on a ride without an adult.

Maximum weight limit is 95kg.

Conditions and wet weather cancellations.

Rain in the rainforest! This is part of the experience! Cape Tribulation is one of the wettest places in Australia, so be sure to dress for wet weather. Please note, we do not offer refunds for wet weather if you choose to not participate.

In the event that management feels the weather conditions are dangerous for the horses or riders, we will unfortunately cancel the tour due to safety concerns. In this instance all participants will be given a refund.

Medical Conditions

We do not recommend riding if injured and we require all Pregnant ladies to have a medical certificate if they wish to ride.

Location

Set in one of Australia’s iconic adventure playgrounds, Cape Tribulation was chosen for its raw beauty, where the rainforest literally meets the reef in one of the most extraordinary corners of Tropical North Queensland.

With Daintree Rainforest as your backdrop and the Great Barrier Reef on your doorstep, this is the ultimate coast and country dream location!

Workshops

Take away some new skills or tighten up your old ones with some good fun western workshops. Cowgirl Surf Club workshops are our hands on western experiences from cowboy hat styling to roping / lassoing, whip cracking and more.

They’re less about being great at it and more about trying something new, and sharing the experience with the other cowgirls.

Horse Riding Experience

The ultimate coastal cowgirl experience.

The horse riding experience is a core part of the weekend, our group will be guided by experienced professionals, over 90 minutes you will ride through the beautiful Daintree rainforest onto the beach overlooking the Great Barrier Reef.
